Counseling

Congratulations! You have taken the first step towards empowering yourself on your healing journey. Whether your experience is anxiety, toxic stress, grief, overwhelm, trauma, co-dependency, confusion, torment, resentment, outrage, betrayal, defeat, or any others, we warmly invite you into our non-judgmental space.  Our approach is focused on processing what no longer is serving you, developing new strategies that serve you holistically, and strengthening your ability to connect with yourself and others. We offer one-on-one therapy through every phase of your evolution. We integrate mind with body to offer a holistic approach. And with your first 15-minute consultation, you will discover what services may best meet your needs.

Mindfulness:

What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens.

We use mindfulness with all our clients as a way to build self-awareness and nurture and reveal your own innate ability to heal and thrive.  Many of our clients will come in worried about what they are going to talk about in therapy.  With mindfulness, it starts the conversation without you needing to do the work.  We sit together and notice what shows up.  Is it a thought? A feeling? A sensation in the body?  Or a combination of all three? This is where we start and how we develop knowledge about ourselves.

Who is mindfulness for? EVERYONE! You can do it in your car, before you go to sleep, or at work! But with a therapist, it can deepen your experience (beyond just talk therapy) and strengthen your relationship with yourself.

OWNER, COUNSELOR

Bronwyn Hockersmith, MA, LPC

Throughout our life we have developed conscious and invisible ways to handle upheaval, loss, and struggle. These strategies, though well practiced, may no longer be serving us. Bronwyn offers a safe space to explore the strategies you have relied upon throughout your life by unpacking historical experiences and present-day stressors. Her approach encourages non-judgement, curiosity, and self-awareness.

Bronwyn pulls from Hakomi, mindfulness, and interperesonal-neurobiology to support in naming and tending to emotional needs, identifying and adapting unhelpful thinking and behavior, and building/strengthening strategies for regulating the nervous system. Her approach helps establish emotional resiliency, expands a sense of choice in how you manage daily stressors, nurtures your inner voice, and supports in establishing an authentic sense of self.

Bronwyn works with adults and teens (16+) and specializes in trauma, anxiety, grief/loss, feelings of inadequacy perfectionism/people pleasing tendencies, depression, self-esteem, stress management, relationship issues, weight/body issues, mindfulness, mind/body connection, career coaching/counseling, pre/post natal issues, premarital discovery, and attachment.
